CONFIGURATION INFORMATION

Configuration and Jumper Options

SCSI ID Selection Jumpers at ID0, ID1, and ID2 select the SCSI address. Each SCSI device on one Host Adapter must have a unique address. ID selection is binary, as shown here.

	SCSI ID ID2	ID1	ID0
0 (default) out out out 1 out out in 2 out in out 3 out in in 4 in out out 5 in out in 6 in in out 7 in in in

Interface Termination RN1 provides termination for the SCSI interface lines. Default is RN1 installed. SCSI terminators are installed only in the end devices on the SCSI cable; remove them from each of the other devices.
Terminator Power A jumper is installed at W1, at W2, or at W2 and W31 to select the source of terminator power (+5V) for interface terminator RN6. Do not install terminators at both W1 and W31. If a jumper is installed at W1 (the factory default configuration, the drive provides terminator power. This configuration is used for PC/AT applications. If a jumper is installed at W2, terminator power is provided by the host computer via interface connector J1, pin 26. If jumpers are installed at both W2 and W31, the drive provides terminator power both to its own terminator and also to the SCSI bus via interface connector J1, pin 26.
Spindle Control A jumper at J2 pins 7-8 controls the spindle option.
No Jumper The drive starts the spindle motor at power-on. (Default)
Jumper The drive waits for a Start Unit SCSI command to
                       start the motor.

LED Color Option A jumper at W12 or W13 selects the color of the LED.
    W12 W13
Yes No The red LED is selected
No Yes The green LED is selected. (Default)

Bus Parity Check A jumper at J2 pins 13-14 selects the bus parity check option. The drive always generates parity regardless of this option.
Jumper	SCSI interface parity checking disabled.
No Jumper	SCSI interface parity checking on. (Default)

Write Protect Option A jumper at J2 pins 11-12 selects the write protect option. If a jumper is installed, the drive is write protected. CAUTION: The drive can still be formatted. A jumper is usually not installed for PC/AT applications.
Jumper	The drive is write protected.
No Jumper	The drive is not write protected. (Default)

Frame Ground Option A jumper at W8 selects the frame ground option.
Jumper	Frame ground connected to logic ground.
No Jumper	Frame ground not connected to logic ground. (Default)

Slave Sync/Master Sync For PC/AT applications, do not jumper or use J2 pins 16 or 20, or W9 or W10.
