2105A/2112A ELECTRICAL INTERFACE
Electrical interface between the Micropolis drive and the host system is accomplished via connectors J1, J2, J3, and J4. These connectors are described below.
Signal Connector J1 is a 40-pin connector. The bus interface connection is made via this connector. Signals on J1 include the 16-bit data bus, and control and address lines.
DC Power Connector J2 is a 3-pin, keyed connector. Both +5V and +12V are supplied to the drive via this connector. This power connector is usually used by low-power computer systems.
DC Power Connector J3 is a 4-pin, keyed, AMP MATE-N-LOCK connector. Both +5V and +12V are supplied to the drive via this connector. This power connector is the industry standard and is used in most applications.
Ground Connector J4 is a 3/16-inch spade lug which is provided for frame grounding. System characteristics determine proper ground connection.
